‘Go Away’ – Celeste Buckingham

Buckingham is a 22 year old artist hailing from Switzerland but now living in the United States. Before hearing her latest single ‘Go Away’ (from the 2017 album ‘Bare’), we checked out Buckingham’s biography where it says ‘The Best way to meet Celeste is through her music’ and after listening we can’t but think, what an introduction that it is!

‘Go Away’ is simply spell blinding. It has a free, innovative and contemporary sound. The instrumentation is mainly electronic with the kick drum being present throughout. The kick feels like the heart beat of the track. It is pulsing continuously and regularly, sounding like an physical heartbeat which is all credit to the way it has been sublimely mixed and mastered.

Undeniably the true heart and soul of ‘Go Away’ comes from Buckingham’s soulful vocal performance. Buckingham’s voice is mature, rich and silky. It is filled with empowerment and has a strong feminist feel. For us, we can hear  influences from Rihanna, Jess Glynn and Dua Lipa. All of which would be in fine company with Buckingham.

‘Go Away’ could easily fit into many situations, a break up song, a solid tune to get ready to or dance floor filler. What does every brilliant tune need? An equally impressive video and the video for ‘Go Away’ does not disappoint! It is exquisite, immersive and matches perfectly to the track.

What an exciting artist, we can’t wait to see what comes next!
